Well, it’s here! Fall has made it’s way into Ohiopyle. Most of the visitors to Ohiopyle may think that summer is the best time to visit, ride the Great Allegheny Passage, or do some whitewater rafting on the Youghiogheny River. But we have a little secret we just have to share with you. Fall is a WONDERFUL time to visit! The beautiful fall foliage is just getting going now in Ohiopyle.
Whitewater rafting in the fall is a special experience, especially during the week. Trip sizes are often much smaller than during the summer, making for a more personalized trip format. We have wetsuits available for rent at check-in if the temperatures happen to be chilly. Check out our fall specials for some added savings! And don’t forget to hit the trail for some great biking. Spend the day on a ride up to Confluence for lunch and take in all the colors the Youghiogheny River Gorge has to offer!
Also on the Fall agenda will be the 17th Annual Ohiopyle Over The Falls Festival and the Ohiopyle Buckwheat and Pancake Supper. Whitewater paddlers nationwide will gather there to race over the spectacular eighteen-foot waterfall in Ohiopyle. Spectators are invited to watch paddlers sprint and cartwheel, end-over-end, off the waterfall. Other event features include the Falls Under Lights, Town Party, and Silent Auction. The Buckwheat Supper serves up all you can eat buckwheat cakes or pancakes. The festival will feature live music on Saturday and craft vendors all weekend.
